Flanges are used to couple the reducer to another part, which in turn has a flange, to create a "flanged coupling". When the flange is applied laterally to the reducer on its output side, we are talking about Output Flanges; these flanges allow the reducer to be fixed to the machine frame or to other parts of the machine itself.
