Limit switch

Limit switches are devices for detecting position by contact. They consist of an actuator mechanically connected to one or more electrical output contacts. When an object comes into contact with the switch, the device actuates the contacts to establish or break an electrical connection.


Limit switches may consist of several types of actuator. The choice of type depends on the mounting position, the force required and the objects to be detected.
